Our privacy obligations

NEWIDE SA (trade name: WeSmart) is an energy software company located at Rue Dieudonné Lefèvre 17, 1020 Brussels. This privacy policy explains how we handle the "personal data" of individuals in the European Union (EU), as required by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).By "personal information" we mean information or opinions about an identified person or a reasonably identifiable person. WeSmart's privacy policy applies to personal information collected and/or held by WeSmart.

The types of personal information we collect and store

WeSmart collects personal information about its users in order to provide its services and customer support. WeSmart's services and customer support are provided through a platform that includes, but is not limited to, personal data and energy consumption data.The product, service or support you interact with may affect the personal data we collect.

How do we collect your personal information?

When you use WeSmart software, you may be asked to provide certain types of personal information. We may ask for, collect or process the following information:
- Account details
- username, password, profile picture.
- Contact details
- email address, phone number.
- Location details
- address.
- Identity data
- full name
- Energy-related information necessary for the operation of the WeSmart software: metering and power data, meter information.

Information we collect from other people

Users may allow us to connect to their account on other platforms in order to collect personal information. Users can prevent us from collecting data from other platforms by unsubscribing from our platform.

Information we collect when you use our services

We keep a record of the interactions we have with our users, including the products, services and customer support we have provided. This includes our users' interactions with our platform, for example when a user has viewed a page or clicked a button.
When we are contacted, we may collect personal information intrinsic to the communication. For example, if we are contacted by e-mail, we will collect the e-mail address used.
We may collect or process the following information:

How do we use your personal information?

The information we request, collect and process is primarily used to provide users with the product or service they have requested. Specifically, we may use your personal information for the following purposes:

When we disclose personal information

Users' personal information may be stored or processed on our behalf outside Belgium and France, including "in the cloud", by our hosting provider. Our service providers are bound by contract to use your personal information only on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions. Our third-party service providers include:

- Providers of hosting, storage, networking and related services in the cloud;
- Providers of security services.

You have the right to request access to the personal information NEWIDE SA holds about you. Most personal information can be accessed by logging into your account. If you wish to access information that is not accessible via the platform, or if you wish to download all the personal information we hold about you in a portable data format, please contact us at support@wesmart.com.

You also have the right to request correction of the personal information we hold about you. For the purposes of the GDPR, our Privacy Officer is also our Data Protection Officer (DPO). While we strive to resolve complaints quickly and informally, if you wish to make a formal complaint, we ask that you address your complaint in writing to our Privacy Officer, by post or email, as indicated above. We will acknowledge receipt of your formal complaint within 10 working days of receipt.
