We contribute our expertise to research and development projects at local, regional and European level. These projects enable us to support the development of sustainable technologies and the expansion of energy communities throughout Europe.
The InterConnect project was approved by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 programme. The solutions developed within the scope of InterConnect allow for a digitalisation of homes, buildings and electric grids based on an Internet of Things (IoT) architecture. By including digital technologies (Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Cloud and Big Data) based on open standards, such as SAREF, it guarantees interoperability between equipment, systems and privacy/cybersecurity of user data. LEARN MOREThe LECaaS project has been approved and funded by Wallonie Recherche SPW, Pôle MecaTech. The aim of the LECaaS project is to offer a digital "as a service" solution for the management, simulation and optimization of renewable energy communities, interoperable with other existing solutions. Deploying a low-voltage energy community (EC) involving residential and/or industrial customers today requires multiple technical and communication skills. There is no open, interoperable solution to bring them all together. We want to remove this barrier to the development of ECs in Europe.
LEARN MOREThe AI4Communities project is approved and funded by Innoviris, in the Brussels-Capital Region. This R&D project is being developed by WeSmart in collaboration with UCLouvain, and aims to develop smart functionalities for AI-based energy communities. The aim is to optimize energy production and consumption within these communities, using the latest advances in artificial intelligence (AI).
